Biography
With a mountain-guide father and a ski-instructor mother, Julien Lizeroux's competitive career began at the age of seven. He joined the French national team by the time he turned 19 and earned three World Cup wins and three World Championship medals since his World Cup debut in 2000. After 21 seasons on Tour, in January 2021 he bid farewell to the sport he has given so much to. To give back to the community he grew up in and promote the sport of alpine skiing, Julien and his school and ski friend Julien Régnier came up with the idea of creating a ski event for the whole ski family. That idea became reality in 2016 when the Super Slalom was born. Held each year in La Plagne, France, it is the longest slalom race in the world, and an opportunity for amateur and advanced skiers to compete with, and against, international ski stars in a friendly spirit.
