France, 35 years old

Born in Pontarlier, not far from the finish line of "la Transjurassienne" Anouk grew up on ski. As time goes on, she became one of the most famous French Nordic skier. Her determination, her will and her hard work enabled her to have some great results.
Over time, Anouk became specialist of popular races. Indeed, she won many of those - but her most memorable one his probably when she finished 1st at the Transjurassienne last season. Even tho she's quite excellent in this race's format, she's still competing in the World Cup for the French team. She finished 8 times in the Top 10, including 7 times with the French relay.

She's one of the most friendly girl of the XC skiing world. It is not uncommon to see her training with athletes from other countries : Sophie Caldwell and Elisa Broccard for instance.
Newly mom, she and most of her French team mates are called the "mothers" gang. She's now trying to balance her life between two things : her role as a mother and XC skiing.

What is your favorite training ?

I definitely love training. What I do appreciate the most in our training is the possibility to mix different sports according to the season : mountain bike, xc ski, rollerski, swimming, kayag and even fitness ! During winter time, I love crossing the border and enjoy a classic ski session in cold conditions in the amazing Switzerland's landscapes.  During summer time, mostly running , start from home, go through the woods and end on top of a view point. I feel free to go wherever I want to.

What is your favorite race format ?

My favorite race is the individual 10km skate but also long distance races in mythic nordic races like Transjurasssienne or Birebeiner.

What is your favorite race place ?

I've always had good results in Davos, so I'd say Davos in Switzerland, I love the area and the track profile. Falun is also among my favorite places. There's always a special atmosphere along the slopes and the difficulty fits me well !

What is your best memory in your sport ?

Without any doubt, a ski session with my father when I was a child. I can still remember the fresh new snow and the hard pack conditions. I had an amazing glide ! We went to the restaurant on the "crêtes du Mont d'Or", it was so easy that it seemed like I went only downhill!

What are your hobbies apart from your sport ?

What makes me escape from my ski life, books and movies who make me travel in time and space. I love flowers and painting, but above all painted flowers ! ;)

What music do you like to listen to when you're training / preparing for a race ?

The sound of nature ! I'm still in the old school and do my training without headphones, therefore I learned to appreciate the sound of nature.
