Superb build quality - some pros & cons
I got these boots as a replacement for my Echo lace-boa boots due to a mishap.
Salomon customer service and warranty has been fantastic throughout a replacement process.
I was pleased with lace-boa version - the boa tightens the internal str8-jkt over your ankle which virtually eliminates heal lift. I have a narrow foot and heal, so even with extra insoles and added pads to the liner this feature worked well.
I decided to try the dual-boa as a replacement. I mistakenly thought one boa would control the internal ankle (like my previous) and the other the external lacing.
No so....The internal ankle strap is part of tightening drawstring that closes the liner and draws down on the ankle web. I found it hard to get the same amount of draw using this vs. the "ST8-JKT" boa system used on the lace version. The "dual" boas tighten the foot section and the ankle section independently.
I also found that it was a bit hard to get the internal lace and ankle strap to release easily to get your foot in.
The added benefit of the boa control for the ankle is that you can pop it and release tension - say for a break - then crank it up as needed without opening the laces as you would with the dual boa.
The boa for the upper lace section has an auto wind that takes up slack - this seemed to make getting the boot on difficult as you have to sort of fight to keep the tongue open. Once on, the boa(s) work great and simplify tightening up the shell. Because of these issues I felt they would not work for me. So I did not use them. Customer service suggested I try the "Synapse". Which I did and found it to be, for me, the best of all features.
To sum up. Yes I would recommend to a friend, but only if they could try side by side with other models. All are outstanding quality and built to perform and last. The differences in features need to be seen and tried out first hand.
Salomon asked for a review of the dual-boa. Since I now have had 3 different Salomon boots to either own, use, or trial - I could not avoid doing this as a comparison.
For me the dual-boa gets 3 stars
The lace-boa 4 stars
The Synapse gets 5 stars

Bad fitment with flat feet
Too much volume with flat feet. Can not tighten because of inner strap being too long. Will always heel lift. Tried smaller size but then toes hit front of booth. Then the boa is bad, shifting place. Save money, stay away.

Good boot crap bindings
Boots cozy, have a night forward lean, and are very stiff and responsive. But BOA binding system has a lot of flaws. Used these boots about 5 days and the glue starting to come undone at the toe boa binding and the boa rope started fraying on the flat string on the toe.
