Behind every run, race, and trick stands a network of athletes, engineers, coaches, and communities, all moving forward together.

Rooted in Salomon’s heritage as the only modern mountain sport brand active across Alpine, Nordic, and Snowboarding, ÉQUIPE brings athletes from different disciplines and generations into one connected ecosystem. Each sport has its own demands, rhythms, and culture, yet all share the same foundation: commitment, progression, and trust in equipment shaped by real-world athlete insight.

From high-speed alpine racing to endurance-driven Nordic disciplines and creative snowboarding, ÉQUIPE spans the full spectrum of winter sports. The following sections break down each discipline and introduce Salomon's top athletes who compete at the highest level in every category.

Alpine Skiing

Speed. Precision. Confidence.

Alpine skiing is about pushing limits at full intensity. Athletes race down mountains at breathtaking speeds, balancing raw power with precise control. From pure speed events to the most technical disciplines, competitive alpine skiing demands focus, courage, and total trust in equipment. This is where Salomon’s ÉQUIPE athletes thrive.

Alpine Disciplines

Downhill is pure speed, with skiers reaching top velocities while navigating wide, sweeping turns, big jumps, and demanding terrain at full throttle.

Super-G blends speed and technical skill, requiring quick decision-making, precise line choice, and smooth transitions at high speed.

Giant Slalom (GS) features longer, more technical turns that demand strength, rhythm, and consistency across challenging courses. Precision and timing are key to mastering this discipline.

Slalom is the most technical discipline, testing agility, reflexes, and exact timing as athletes navigate closely spaced gates on short, fast-paced courses. It rewards quick thinking, coordination, and flawless execution.

Ski Cross is a head-to-head race where four skiers compete simultaneously on a course featuring jumps, turns, and rollers. Speed, tactics, and explosive power combine to create one of the most thrilling alpine events.

Nordic Skiing

Endurance. Precision. Strategy.

Nordic skiing demands relentless stamina, tactical discipline, and refined technique. Athletes push their physical and mental limits over varied terrain, combining speed, endurance, and strategic decision-making. Competitive Nordic skiing is primarily divided into biathlon and cross-country skiing, each testing athletes in unique ways that reward strength, resilience, and focus.

Biathlon Disciplines

Biathlon combines cross-country skiing with precision rifle shooting, creating a distinctive test of endurance and composure. Athletes race over challenging courses, stopping at shooting ranges to fire at targets. Accuracy is critical, as missed shots result in time penalties or extra distance skied.

Individual: Athletes start every 30 seconds, skiing four laps with two prone and two standing shooting sessions. A one-minute penalty is added for each missed shot.

Sprint: An individual start event, two laps with one prone and one standing shooting session. Each miss requires a 150-m penalty loop. Sprint results often determine Pursuit starting positions.

Pursuit: Athletes start based on Sprint rankings and time gaps, completing four laps with two prone and two standing shootings. Each miss incurs a 150-m penalty loop.

Mass Start: The top 30 athletes start together, racing four laps with two prone and two standing shootings. Penalty loops are applied for missed targets.

Relay: Teams of four alternate skiing two laps each, with one prone and one standing shooting per leg. Each bout allows three spare rounds; any remaining misses require a 150-m penalty loop.

ÉQUIPE Biathlon Athletes

Éric Perrot (FRA): A rising talent in international biathlon. Éric combines strong skiing speed with disciplined marksmanship, supported by growing tactical maturity and physical endurance across formats.

Sebastian Samuelsson (SWE): A bold competitor pushing modern biathlon forward. Sebastian blends explosive skiing with confident shooting, racing with an attacking mindset across all formats.

Cross-Country Disciplines

Cross-country skiing is the foundation of Nordic endurance. It is a test of stamina, efficiency, and race intelligence, where athletes manage effort over long distances, varied terrain, and changing conditions. Races unfold using classical or freestyle techniques, demanding both physical resilience and tactical awareness as speed, positioning, and timing become decisive.

Skiathlon: A two-part race combining classical and freestyle techniques. Athletes switch skis mid-race, requiring versatility, smart pacing, and precise execution across both styles.

Sprint: Short, explosive races starting with a qualification round, followed by head-to-head heats. Sprints reward raw speed, fast reactions, and sharp tactical choices under pressure.

Relay: A team event where athletes alternate legs, often switching techniques. Success depends on consistency, teamwork, and the ability to deliver under collective pressure.

Mass Start: All athletes start together, racing shoulder to shoulder. Positioning, drafting, and endurance play a crucial role as the race unfolds and tactics evolve over distance.

Snowboarding

Creativity. Fearlessness. Style.

Snowboarding is where creativity meets commitment. Borrowing the flow of surfing, the audacity of skateboarding, and the precision of skiing, freestyle snowboarding pushes expression and progression forward. In Halfpipe, Big Air, and Slopestyle, athletes blend technical mastery with control and style. The ÉQUIPE snowboarding collection is built for riders who refuse to compromise.

Snowboarding Disciplines

Halfpipe: Every wall is an opportunity to go higher, spin harder, and land cleaner. Halfpipe demands total control, precise timing, and fearless commitment from start to finish.

Big Air: One jump. One trick. One defining moment. Big Air rewards technical difficulty and flawless execution, demanding the confidence to commit when everything is on the line.
