Biography
Boris Ghirardi, nicknamed "pied de robot", is a Salomon / I-Run athlete and President of the Level Up association. After a motorcycle accident in 2019 that cost him his leg, Boris turned the adversity into an opportunity to redefine his limits. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he refuses to let his disability get in the way of his life.
After intense rehabilitation, Boris chose to focus on what he could achieve rather than on the obstacles. In just two years, he took on the challenge of running the Sierre-Zinal trail, a demanding 31 km race with 2500 meters of positive altitude difference.
In addition to his own exploits, Boris created the Level Up association to share his experience and inspire other people with disabilities. He is also involved in the design of the Hopper running blade in collaboration with Salomon and Airbus, enabling many people to rediscover the pleasure of running.
His philosophy is summed up by the Mark Twain quote, "They didn't know it was impossible, so they did it." Boris embodies this idea by turning challenges into achievements and showing how resilience can lead to extraordinary results.
