Rated 5 out of 5 by Raven from Great out of the box Just recently bought these Salomon Quest 4 Goretex. Took them out of the box and hiked for 3 hours and then wore them the rest of the day. I hike in other Salomon products and while I like them a lot the Quest 4 are my new favorite. The fit is really good, enough space in the toe box, and I had no hot spots after hiking 3 hours and wearing them all day. I was walking on light snow covered trails and found the traction to be very good. This is a very comfortable lightweight boot and I found no negatives on my initial hike. I will report back after more miles, but I expect no issues if this boot is like my previous Salomon boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wa73Ua788 from Great Comfortable Lightweight Hiking Shoe! Since I had two Quest 3 Gore-Tex. Now I am very glad to get that awesome color I wanted as to be match with my khaki casual pant use to work daily also sometime go to construction site for field tour. Also wear for hiking too, very comfortable and better improved as lightweight and look good durable materials. The upper ankle is much improved bit more shug around ankle and above it for support after tie it up. Go Rock! Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShaneM from Exceeded Expectations I bought this to replace a pair of Merril MOABs that just weren't cutting it anymore. Ive put about 50 trail miles on these so far as well as taken these to the construction site. In both cases I've found 0 instances of rubbing or discomfort. The high ankle gives me the support I was looking for. These were comfortable right out of the box. What I wasn't expecting was how much these resemble the shoes worn by Marty McFly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CDEl from Great support/lacing system I actually bought the previous model about 4 months ago, not knowing the new model was coming out. These are replacing a pair of 5 year old X Ultra Mid GTX which I still have. Those held up great but I feel the Quest 4's are so much better. Just comparing the 2 models next to each other, the top of the Quest is at least an inch higher between sole thickness and material height. I am plain clothes LEO and wear these in every thing from urban to rural with no issues. The lace lock halfway up the boot is my new favorite thing because it allows me to have a different tightness on the bottom vs the top of the boot and that has made all the difference in comfort. My old X Ultra's would pinch at my toe when I had the top tight enough. These boots feel substantial and extremely supportive, without being heavy and bulky. Better than I could have hoped for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mark D. from Not a upgrade Previously I had the Salomon Quest 4D GTX Forces 2 Waterproof Tactical Boot, that was an amazing boot wore it for 2 years no issues out the box... went to buy a new boot, and the salesman said this was the upgraded version, so I thought perfect, so I bought them. I’m a cop so on my feet 12-13 hours, running, jumping, climbing, so I need reliable footwear, which this boot doesn’t offer. First the toe box is huge, I sized down a half size and my toes still slide and move, the boots very heavy, my Achilles on the left foot constantly hurts, there’s two pressure points at the top of the boot that cut in when walking, the heel lifts, and a he shoe laces are a foot long when tied up all the way, leaving shoelaces to trip on even double knotted. This might be a good boot for the weekend warrior, but defiantly not a work boot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Charbaba from Great boots but they cheaped out Really love the boots for the most part except for the fact that Salomon made the eyelets plastic rather than metal... not sure why they did they, it’s a minuscule weight saving and the weakest point on the boot. I smashed one of my eyelets on a rock and it shattered... not I have to skip it. Very poor design, I expect more from Salomon
