Biography
Always smiling, Marusa Ferk started skiing at the age of four and has been one of the permanent members of the Slovenian team since her World Cup debut in 2007. Her father was a ski coach, and he instilled a love for the sport in both Marusa and her sister. After a string of successes in children’s races, she went on to win a medal at the Junior World Championships in 2007 in the combined event. Her World Cup debut came the same year at the 2007 World Cup in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, where she finished 18th in the giant slalom. Her biggest accomplishment came in a World Cup slalom race in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, where she finished third in the slalom race in 2009. Her podium finish was also the very first time she scored a top-10 result in the discipline. Marusa has always prided herself on being a very polyvalent skier that regularly competes across all disciplines.
