Salomon statement on Joyline Chepngeno

Sep 9, 2025
2 min read

Salomon received official confirmation that Joyline Chepngeno, one of our trail running athletes, has returned a positive anti-doping test after the unauthorized use of injected painkillers in the form of corticoids.

This behavior contradicts the values at the core of Salomon’s DNA, which shape all our actions. We will uphold these principles without compromise; any violation is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Therefore, Salomon terminates the sponsorship agreement effective immediately, with the athlete.

This measure reflects our dedication to acting responsibly and maintaining trust with our athletes, clients, employees, partners, ambassadors, and broader communities.

Salomon is working closely with all relevant parties to protect the integrity of our approach and uphold the highest standards across every partnership. Salomon reaffirms our steadfast commitment to clean sport, ethical conduct, fairness, equal treatment, and principled action in all we do.

To all those impacted, competitors who race with integrity, organizers dedicated to the credibility of their events, athletes of our Salomon Pro Running Team roster aligned with our unwavering commitment on sporting rules, and the fans of the trail running communities who, like us, believe as much as we do in the spirit of the sport - we share our disappointment and reaffirm our commitment to defend integrity and fair competition above all.
