CHANGE THROUGH INNOVATION
OUR RESPONSIBLE INNOVATIONS
FOOTWEAR
Salomon continues to innovate in sustainable footwear with several key products.
In 2021, the INDEX.01, the first fully recyclable running shoe, was introduced, reducing CO2 emissions by 44%. The range has expanded with the INDEX.02 and INDEX.03, further enhancing lightness, durability, and comfort.
In 2024, the VISION, our trail running shoe, combines performance and sustainability with a recyclable sole.
In 2024, we continued our efforts to produce our most high-performing road running shoe in France with our partner ASF

BRIGADE INDEX
After four years of development, the Brigade Index ski and snowboard helmet is now fully recyclable. Made with 96% materials from the same family of plastics, it delivers impeccable performance. Its design allows for shredding and recycling without disassembly, reducing its environmental impact by 19%.

TRASH IS GOLD
Since 2022, we have launched the "Trash is Gold" project to reuse production waste in our ski and snowboard ranges, particularly in the sidewalls. This primarily involves ABS material. We have applied this to products such as the Addikt ski and the HPS - Sickstick snowboard. The idea behind the project is to change the perception of trash by aesthetically valorizing recycled materials.
ACTING FOR A CIRCULAR ECONOMY

REPAIR
At Salomon, we are passionate about extending the lifespan of our products and reducing waste. Salomon has been collaborating for several years with Green Wolf, a repair company founded in 2015. Green Wolf repairs clothing, gear and accessories, allowing our customers to enjoy their equipment for longer.

RECYCLE
We are improving product recyclability through partnerships with CETIA and Carbios. Since 2021, we’ve collaborated with CETIA on textile and footwear recycling, including the Re_Shoes project. CETIA is developing a shoe dismantling demonstrator, while Carbios uses enzymatic recycling to reintegrate post-consumer textiles and packaging.
Goal: By 2030, offer at least one option for repair, recycling, second-hand use, or rental for 100% of our products.
ACTING FOR THE CLIMATE AND THE ENVIRONMENT
REDUCING EMISSIONS TOWARDS OUR SCIENCE-BASED TARGET
In 2024, Salomon’s CO₂ emissions amounted to :
6,550 tCO₂e across Scopes 1 and 2, a level similar to 2022 despite the growth of Salomon’s operations, including the opening of new stores. This stability was achieved through improved energy efficiency across sites and changes to the energy mix, including reduced reliance on fossil fuels and increased use of renewable electricity.
309,219 tCO₂e across Scope 3, representing a 5% increase compared with 2022, mainly driven by business growth, with a higher volume of products manufactured and sold.

OUR CLIMATE TRANSITION PLAN
Our climate transition plan is based on three strategic pillars :
1. Informing our decisions through science-based data (annual carbon footprint assessments, supplier data, and product life cycle analyses).
2. Focusing our efforts where our impact is most significant across Scopes 1, 2, and 3: improving the energy efficiency and energy mix of our sites, eco-design, innovation, and product circularity, transitioning to lower-impact materials, and decarbonizing our suppliers, as well as the transportation and distribution of our products.
3. Integrate our climate transition plan into our company strategy.
Our climate strategy is detailed in our Impact Report.
