Glide review
Purchased as a road to trail trainer for slower longer runs.
The construction & quality seems high, i really like the fit of this shoe just about the right amount of toe box. Unfortunately i really dislike the tongue, not only it looks silly but its very big & can get very warm, i think this is to cater for a large toggle on the quicklaces. Personally i prefer the smaller pocket & neater design like with Pulsar. Apart from that the upper is good.
They feel pretty average to run in not bad but not a shoe i look forward to, i really want to love them but they are not really what i expected, despite them being max cushioned shoe i don't feel they reduce any discomfort over long distances. Maybe they are aimed at heal strikers but i just prefer other shoes to these & tend to keep my milage lower. They are admittedly cheaper so maybe a case of you get what you pay for.
Grip is decent & does the job so far but not had anything too technical to throw at them.

Great shoes. Do what was said on the tin.
I bought these for an ultra. After wearing them in, they were fantastic for the event. Feet stayed dry, lightweight compared to my old Salomons, great grip and no blisters (other precautions taken too!)

My Review for ULTRA GLIDE 2
Recently, I’ve got my new Ultra Glides 2. Shoes looks great as described. Unfortunately I can’t wear them as my size 10.5 US turnes out to be on a smaller size. Head out for a short run and it was painful. My previous Salomon Pulsar Trail Pro were perfect in 10.5 US size. I was really looking forward to run trails in my Ultra Glides 2 but it does not seem to be the case.

Working out
Bought them two months ago to trail for 50 K race in wet, dry, muddy, technical, rocky, tree-rooted, up and down trails ranging from 10K to 40K at a time. have run about 200 km in them. Traction is good, can feel the ground under my feet, great on the down sections, responsive, lacing system is great despite my fears up front. I have very narrow foot and usually wear mens size 10.5 but needed size 11 in these. Happy so far. Maybe could use a little more cushion for loner runs.

Great Shoe
Overall happy with the build of the shoe and comfort on the feet. I was looking for an overall hiking and occasional trail walking shoe.

Narrow
Usually wear a 10.5 but that particular size was tight and very narrow. I have never had to buy wide-sized shoes and feel my foot would be considered narrow, but even with a size 11, it's still a narrow fit. I would recommend going a half size up, worked for me. Shoes fare a tight fit, but comfy and has the traction I was looking for.

Very comfortable for long trail runs.
Excellent cushioning and decent grip for moderate trails and road. Wore these only once before trusting them for a 24km trail run. Felt comfortable the whole way round and less aches and pains afterward than with other trail shoes.

Out of the box great
Great low drop base. Lacing system holds foot in place well on quick descents.

Finally one that fits me
I have been searching for a Salomon shoe that fits me well. Salomon do produce a lot of shoes that are for narrow feet, but finally I have found a pair that fits me really well. No hot spots or blisters. I am a 9 so I had to go up a size, which I’m glad I did. The more I wear these the better they are getting, even in the warm weather days. Gravel, Mud, Concrete, Tarmac, tried them all and breezed over them, even performed well on wet mud. Taken a lot of trying on different pairs, but now I have a pair I feel confident/comfortable in. Thank you Salomon.

Basically the same shoe as Ultra Glide, But
I bought both the Ultra Glide and the Ultra Glide 2 as I have had great results with the Ultra Glide. Have trained and raced with both shoes and I still like the less protection of the Ultra Glide. The (2) has a tighter fit in the toe box which puts more pressure on the big toe in really steep technical terrain. Crank that heel down when it is steep.

Super comfortable
My current go-to shoe, perfect for the Summer trails. The Ultra Glide 2 is super comfortable and suitable for all distances, whether it's a short run or a full day out on the trail.

Comfortable long distance trail shoe
The most comfortable trail shoe. I've mainly used these for the high mileage, long runs on non-technical trails and you simply can't fault them. If you owned the UltraGlide 1 then you won't have any issues in the updated version - comfortable on dry trails and road sections alike. They handle descents better than I expected, and are pretty much my go-to shoe.

I love these but…
I bought these runners to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks. I’ve worn them four times and I love them, they’re really comfy. I’ve run about 40km in em so far and look forward to doing Y3P in em. They collect Lincolnshire farm mud easily and it’s difficult to shed.
But the overall comfiness is a total win.
My big issue is that for the minimal amount of use the stitching is already coming away on one of the ‘S’ pieces
On the tongue. I’m worried that this
Is a sign of poor workmanship.

Great shoe
Really in love with these. Super lightweight, with great grip and wicked soft. I've now put over 200km on these and they're getting even better. Zero break-in period needed as well. These were great straight out of the box. Absolutely in love Salomon's again.

Fits too tight
Before I bought this pair, I had Sense Ride 4 (10.5) which had a perfect fit. But the fit on the Ultra Glide 2 (same number) is too tight. Other than that, its a great shoe, very well built and comfortable

Super versatile trail shoe!
Just loved the original version and had numerous pairs. The Ultra Glide 2 picked right up where the originals left off. Same great cushioning and lightweight feel for a wide variety of trail conditions and types of runs.
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I almost feel like these are a slightly more/better tapered fit than original. Tongue is a little longer, which I like, to make it easier with the lace pocket.
These are definitely my go-to shoes for most runs.

Much improved!
The first model of these felt as if they were too “slippery” as time went on. Felt like my feet were swimming in the shoe. This model got everything right, making for a soft, cushy ride while keeping the lightweight feel. Would definitely recommend for long days in the mountains, longer races, or recovery runs in the trails. I have been impressed with how the tread has held up!

Ultimate go-to training shoe
After going through about 4 pairs of the original Ultra Glide I was worried that the 2's might not live up, boy was I wrong! Right out of the box I could tell these pick up right here the originals left off.
The rocker under the footbed gives them a race-y feel while still providing maximum comfort. These are probably the tallest stack height shoes I run in so I give the laces and extra tug or two to mitigate rolled ankles.
The white pair I got didn't stay white for too long but that's trail running. I did find out the mud washes off easily and they drain quite well with the recent rain Southern California has gotten recently.
They've held up strong for over 200 miles so far and I've got 400+ out of the originals and I weight about 195

MY go-to trail shoe for any condition
I love these shoes for every day weekly runs to 50ks! They have held up so incredibly well are comfortable, and give me the right amount of control on ascents and descents. The toe box is roomy and for me an overall great performing shoe!

Great shoe
Super versatile shoe. These are great for long runs, races, and everything in between. Solid support, but lightweight. Traction is excellent, and durable is standard Salomon’s usual quality.

Stellar updates to round 2 of my fav long shoe
The original ultra glide was really comfortable, but a little flat feeling. This updated version has a nice littler rocker to it, without sacrificing the comfy cushion. A true all day, 100k-100m ultrarunning shoe. New colors are nice, too.

My New Favorite Trail Shoe!
I live in Northeastern PA where the trails are pretty aggressive. We have a lot of rocky terrain and I was looking for a shoe that would be comfortable for long days on these aggressive trails. I spent the past year in another popular comfortable trail shoe, but the UG2 was a no brainer after the first run! Sizing is perfect for me. I heard Salomon can feel narrow, but the UG2 definitely has great room in the toe to spread out. True to size for sure. The lacing system is absolutely my new favorite thing, the comfort is unmatched, the grip is just right, and I felt confident the whole time. I have put in miles in the snow, mud, and solid single track with technical rocky sections. This shoe really is fun. I'm sure some deeper lugs would make for a different experience, but I'm really happy doing trail training and racing in this shoe for this next season!
