Love Trails Festival, 11th - 14th July
Love Trails® Festival 25km Golden Trail Race
Love Trails Festival welcomes you to take part in an adventure that goes far beyond the ordinary half marathon; not just in distance, but in scenery with the breathtaking backdrop of the Gower Peninsula. Complete with a zesty amount of elevation, the route soars above pristine golden beaches, ending with a unique setting of the world’s first trail running & music festival: Love Trails.
Established in 2017, Love Trails Festival transforms the wild coast of South Wales into a natural playground for revellers and adventure junkies alike. Combining a weekend of adventure and exploration, the collective euphoria of watching live music on a big stage, the ‘runner’s high’ and the liberating freedom of the rugged Welsh coastline, it’s a magical event like no other - and a race finish line like nothing you’ll have experienced before.
This race is part of the Salomon Golden Trail Series, a national series of trail running races that aims to bring together the strongest and most ambitious runners of off-road racing into a single national "super circuit". The Golden Trail Series exists to celebrate and grow the sport of trail running, respecting unique values like parity, equity, transparency, and honesty.
Runners will start and finish at the Love Trails Festival site, with high energy music (and the crowds to match). The route unfolds by summiting Llanmadoc Hill with breathtaking panoramic views that stretch across the peninsula. From here, runners will head towards the famous Worms Head, traversing Rhossili Downs where the terrain opens up into expansive grassy plains dotted with flowers. With well-defined trails and views of vast golden beaches, this route takes in the absolute best of the Gower Peninsula. Runners can expect two fantastically stocked aid stations on this route keeping that morale and energy level sky high at roughly 11km and 20km. This is a fully marked and supported route.
The Golden Trail National Series 2024 comprises of six races across England, Wales and The Netherlands. The top two men and women in the overall ranking, along with the first place U23 male and female, will receive tickets for the GTNS Grand Finals, where they will measure themselves against the world's best athletes.
Love Trails Festival will be the athletes' last chance to compete for an invite to the National Final, so be sure to have competed in this and one of the previous rounds to secure your chance to be invited to the final in September.
If you are an Elite athlete who has participated in any of the other rounds of the 2024 GTNS UK/NL series and would like to race in this final qualifying round, please contact hello@lovetrails.com. There are only a limited number of free elite entries for this race, which include a 'Saturday Day only ticket'. Elite athletes also get a unique 50% off code for a full Love Trails Festival weekend ticket to enjoy the rest of the weekend.
