THE SALOMON FOUNDATION GOES GLOBAL - IMPACTING LIVES FROM THE OUTSIDE-IN
Since 1999, the Salomon Foundation has helped mountain professionals—and the families of mountain professionals—in times of need, such as after an accident, illness or even an untimely death. Now, driven by longtime Foundation Director and Salomon employee Marie Accambray, the Salomon Foundation is expanding its reach to work globally alongside organizations that empower disadvantaged or excluded people to practice outdoor sports.
NEWFOUND FREEDOM IN THE OUTDOORS
Salomon employee Patrick Leick has worked with the best outdoor athletes on the planet, creating innovative footwear solutions that helped them get to the hardest-to-reach places on earth using their own two feet. Recently, he has been helping a new team of athletes with a different set of challenges—Salomon’s Para-Team of amputee athletes. Discover how Patrick and this inspiring group have teamed up to accomplish feats they never thought possible.
Stopping Ocean Plastic One River Barrier at a time
Salomon ambassador Sam Bencheghib’s homeland of Indonesia has gone from paradise to plastic-filled, so he decided to do something about it. With his siblings, he started Sungai Watch, a non-profit that builds river barriers to stop plastic from entering the ocean. This year, he visited Salomon to share ideas on using recycled plastic.
Saved by Snowboarding
What if your life was put in danger just because you loved snowboarding? This is the incredible story of a Salomon snowboard athlete Victor Daviet who helped the Afghan Snowboard team escape from their country when the Taliban took power and changed everything.
