What is Sigma™ technology and what are its benefits ?
Sigma™ is an innovative new lens technology developed by Salomon that:
- Significantly improves contrast in snowy conditions, which enables you to see variations in the terrain better.
- Provides improved visibility with greater detail in all conditions, even whiteout days.
- Reduces eye fatigue during long days of skiing or snowboarding.
How does Sigma™ technology work?
Developed on a foundation of solid optical expertise and in-depth studies on how light reacts to snowy terrain, the Sigma™ transmission curve is totally unique in how it controls which light waves pass through the lens. Sigma™ lenses reduce the transmission of green light and at the same time boost blue and red light, which improves the eye’s ability to distinguish detail while also providing 100% protection against ultraviolet (UV) rays.
The Sigma™ range
The weather in the mountains changes. For instance, the intensity of the sun’s rays increases by 10 to 12% for every 1000m (3,281 ft) of elevation gain, and snow reflects up to 85% of the sun’s rays. That’s why it’s essential to have quality eyewear that protects your eyes.
