In 2022, Salomon is celebrating its 75th birthday. 75 years of creating innovative products, supporting talented athletes, and pushing the sports forward. In this new video series, discover the history and heritage of Salomon: its origins in the French Alps making products for skiing, snowboarding, and nordic skiing; its ventures into action sports such as climbing, inline skating, and skydiving, and the development of hiking, adventure racing and trail running.
In the latest episode, we go back to the 1990’s. Before trail running, there was adventure racing — the ultimate multi-sport race in extreme conditions. Then in the 2000s trail running emerged as the new trend and Salomon not only wanted to be part of it but to participate in bringing it up to what it is today. Watch how Salomon magnified the world of trail running by building the first international trail running team in the world, working along with athletes like Kilian Jornet (Spain), Courtney Dauwalter (USA), François D’Haene (France), Emelie Forsberg (Sw), Ryan Sandes (ZA), Judith Wyder (CH) and many others to develop the iconic gear that took trail running to the next level.

In the third episode of the series, our athletes and employees look back on Salomon Igniting Communities in Ski Cross, JIB Academy, Salomon TV and Raid Adventure. A reflection on Salomon’s roots to inspire communities from the wildest of Ski Cross, to building a community for young talent in freestyle skiing. Raid adventure shows the boundaries Salomon never ceases to push, emphasizing teamwork in this crazy multisport event. And although these communities may not all still exist today, Salomon TV is still host to the wild and wonderful experiences created by the Salomon community!
Events provide people with a connection to something bigger than just themselves and the individual sport.
