A vision
Designed through the desire to have a lightweight, stable shoe that could move quickly over extreme terrain, Fred Cretinon created the first XA PRO. Fast and light, it was part of the first wave of trail running and redefined adventure running itself.
An instant success
Right away, XA PRO 3D answered the needs of mountain runners everywhere – a light and fast shoe with the stability they needed for the roughest terrain. It performed so well that alongside trail runners and racers, hikers and walkers also embraced its versatility. Whether it was adapted for all conditions with GORE-TEX technology, or extended to a mid-cut version for extra ankle support, every iteration of this legend only added to its status as the gold standard of excellence.
Stability, protection & fit
At the heart of the XA PRO 3D is its 3D Chassis structure that gives it its trademark stability on trails. The original H-shaped structure provided mid-foot and heel stability, as well as agility in the forefront of the foot. The chassis evolved to include reinforcements at the toe of the shoe for all-important protection in extreme terrains while the introduction of quickLACE™ and sensiFIT™ technologies brought unparalleled fit through its engineered foot cradle for a custom-like fit.
