The Salomon footwear recycling programme
Drop off your worn-out Salomon running, hiking, sportstyle footwear or sandals at one of the participating stores. The collected shoes are sent to our recycling partner, TerraCycle®, where they are sorted, shredded, and processed into recycled materials that can be used in products such as flooring, automotive components, furniture, and building materials. TerraCycle® guarantees that 97% of the collected shoe material is recycled.
Every pair collected: 2€ to the Salomon Foundation
Each pair collected helps support the Foundation’s initiatives. (Based on an average of 20 pairs collected per collection box)
FAQS
Salomon-branded athletic footwear, including runners, hiking boots, sandals or sportstyle items. Ski boots, snowboard boots and leather are not accepted.
Bring your worn-out footwear to a participating Salomon store and place it in the dedicated collection box.
No. We've chosen a donations-based system because it avoids the kind of instant rewards that can lead to impulse buying. Instead, your contribution goes further : for every pair collected, Salomon donates 2€ to the Salomon Foundation (based on an average of 20 pairs collected per box) While we take care of amplifying your impact, take time to consider your next purchase, how it fits your needs, and whether it facilitates responsible consumption.
Shoes are sent to Terracycle®, where they are sorted, shredded, and turned into raw recycled materials. Over 97% of input materials become usable outputs for products like flooring, car parts, furniture, or building materials.

Salomon x TerraCycle®
TerraCycle® specialises in recycling hard-to-recycle waste streams that aren't typically accepted through local recycling systems. For this pilot, TerraCycle® manages the collection, sorting and recycling of footwear returned at participating Salomon stores. Together, we're testing a practical approach to better understand how in-store footwear recycling can work.
