From GCS to ACS
In 2005, designer Christian Tresser embarked on a quest to revolutionize trail shoes with the creation of the GCS Pro, a lightweight yet rugged contender in the realm of runnable footwear.
Building upon this foundation, he introduced the ACS Pro—an evolutionary step that retained the original’s resilience but introduced a radical new aesthetic.
New Design Elements
The ACS Pro is a reinterpretation of the GCS with aggressive lines, mesh fabric, a molded TPU cage, and a retro look. The Agile Chassis System, consisting of AC Skeleton, AC Muscle 2, and AC Tendon, was introduced to enhance footstrike control, cushioning, and energy return.
THE VISION
Tresser’s concept for the ACS Pro was fueled by the robust forms of motorcycle tanks, which influenced the design of the eyelets, while the upper’s ‘breathable’ rib-look was a nod to both form and function, culminating in a design that was as striking as it was innovative.

Singular Trademark Style
Shortly after the launch of ACS Pro, the ACS range expanded with the introduction of the ACS +, focusing on style while staying true to the original’s legacy. The ACS + HERITAGE PACK and ACS + FT drew inspiration from Salomon’s wintersports legacy, offering a colorful homage to the brand’s history.
