Biography
There was really no other choice for Andreas Zampa than to become an alpine skier. Three generations of family members before him had all competed for the Slovakian Ski Team, and his older brother Adam led the way for him to pursue a career in the sport as well. Ever since his World Cup debut in Beaver Creek, USA, in 2012, Andreas has successfully competed in all disciplines, but his skills are best showcased in the giant slalom races. Giant slalom is also the discipline that brought him his best World Cup result so far, an 18th place on the renowned and particularly challenging Chuenisbärg slope in Adelboden, Switzerland, in 2018. He was also a member of the silver-winning Team Parallel team at the World Championships which took place in St.Moritz, Switzerland in 2007. He competed in both the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, and PyeongChang, Korea, and like his brother Adam, he has always been coached by their father Tomas.
