Like the updates from the Pulsar 2
Just got these a week ago while I'm still wearing out my Pulsar 2s and had to try them out on a technical 7 miler. They instantly felt comfortable as opposed to the 2s which needed a "break-in" of about 30 miles for me. The reformed / curved "tongue" doesn't allow the interior portion of the laces to dig into the top of my foot like the 2s initially did (which were painful, especially on downhills), the lace garage is much more user friendly (I just tuck the 2s in the front laces), and now that I've mastered getting them on I have no complaints. They fit snug (I have a "normal" foot and wear thin socks), but somehow feel like there's more wiggle room, and for me, they're still true to size. The lugs are noticeably deeper which was no issue on the mostly dry rocky terrain here in Colorado, while they should help me out on some of the muddy and light snow days. Overall they're super light, grippy, with great ground feel and just enough protection / cushion. And I really like the return to the classic S-Lab colors (last year's red and white, and this year's red and black, please keep doing that Salomon). Pricey, but I wear racers til they rot off my feet, so they're worth it.

Is there going to be more colors available on the new S/lab pulsar 3?

Excellent!
Salomon! Excellent job with this shoe! This shoe reminds me of older versions as far as stability and comfort bombing technical descents. The last pulsar versions seemed to sit a bit high for the width and was not my favorite on off camber running/rocks as my feet would slide around a bit. With the new version I don’t have that issue and I can run free without worry on technical trail.
This version is much more comfortable in my opinion and I can definitely see this shoe being able to have much longer days on foot that the previous versions. Racked up about 40 miles and a ton of vert this weekend on really gnarly trails. The new design I think is going to hold up really well. Excited to test this shoe out more! I will say you can get away with a thicker pair of socks in this shoe with your normal size shoe.
