Great shoe, different fit
I've had this shoe now 5 months, I really like the lower drop of this shoe, with gore-tex it's great for winter and spring running. I tend to have a quite narrow foot and was surprised by how wide this shoe feels compared to other Salomon shoes, so would suggest trying for fit if you tend to have a narrower foot.

Best Salomon shoe ever
This is my 2nd pair of Thundercross and I couldn’t be happier. I figured I’d better buy another pair before something changes. These are wide enough in the toe box and have great grip and cushioning for trail running and hiking. They are also my go to shoe for just wearing around since they are so comfortable. Keep up the good work!

Good grip, relatively relaxed fit
I'm a fan of Salomon shoes and bought these because I was looking for something which would provide good grip in muddy conditions but offer a bit more protection and cushioning underfoot than some of the alternatives I wear (e.g. Innov8 X-talon). In this they have more or less met my expectations. If I'm a bit disappointed it's because I like narrow- fitting shoes for my narrow-ankled feet, which is what I normally expect with Salomon. However, these seem wider fitting and so less snug than anticipated - hence the three star rating. Others, who typically find Salomon shoes too narrow, may well find that they really like these shoes for exactly the same reason.

Comfortable, good grip. Love these shoes!
I love these shoes. So comfortable but with deep tread to help me cope with the patches of mud we get this time of year. Good looking in my eyes too. And the funky lacing system. I usually buy support shoes and these are just fine for me. Highly recommended. 👍

Awesome Thundercross!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Better stability, lower heel, wider foot, more cushion up front, lighter shoe - best one yet from Salomon!

Great shoes
My go to for softer terrain. My issue with soft ground shoes is that they are often stiff and uncomfortable but these are the exact opposite. Soft upper and very comfortable to run in for extended period of time

An amazing trail shoe!
There is so much to love about this shoe: lightweight, flexible upper, toe protection, incredible grip and I mean the colors are so fun! I love to add this shoe into my trail running rotation with the ultra glide, especially on muddy, snowy runs!

Perfect Shoe for Long Days on Technical Terrain
This shoe is my go-to for technical + long runs. Over 300 miles in them & they're still kickin'.
I put this shoe through the ringer during the HURT 100 and am pleased to say that I escaped blister free, with *surprisingly* happy feet. Traction on technical descents & in muddy areas was superb. The heel lockdown was great, upper felt secure across top of the foot but roomy in the toebox - also found the upper to be very breathable & did dry quickly after stream crossings. Midsole felt supportive & responsive throughout the entire race.

Great Grip and Surprisingly plush.
57 miles into the shoes so far-a mix of snowy and muddy conditions mostly (winter trails in Boise) and I find these shoes to be impressive and holding up well. The shoe feels surprisingly plush for a Salomon (not quite hook level, but close) with padding around the ankle collar and the energy foam midsole feeling soft on initial step in. They feel lightweight and the traction has been awesome with the 5mm lugs being super clutch for days I couldn’t get out to run until the snow had already melted and left for sloppy trails. The material around the toe bumper keeps feet from getting wet in snowy weather and although I likely wouldn’t race in this shoe (too heavy) or wear it a ton in the summer (same protective material over toe looks like it would trap heat) I find it perfect for the current Nov-April weather in the northern hemisphere. Durability goof thus far and lugs show no noticeable sign of wearing or midsole of compressing.

My Goldilocks Shoe
Having a foot on the wider side I’m not able to run in a lot of Salomon’s, but man am I glad I can fit this one. Tested them in some nasty technical muddy sloppy trails and these shoes are fire. The fit is almost glove like, snug in all the right places with room for toe splay. Definitely my go to shoe for nasty weather ultras this year

Great all rounder
Having owned various Salomon trail shoes in the past these are by far the complete shoe for all conditions. Excellent grip in wet and mud and loads of support for rocky trails. Yet they are really light and not particularly bulky meaning they feel very agile on technical stuff. Size perfect to me, I am UK 10.5/11 depending on brand and 11s in these are perfect.

Great upgrade on the Speedcross, extra cushioning makes these a great trainer for varied terrain. I personally didn't like them for OCR as the additional cushioning meant I couldn't feel the obstacles under my feet. However these are just what I need for longer trail runs and hiking.
My only negative is that the tongue get caught up along the sides as it is not integrated into the shoe as it is in other models.

Good shoe, comfortable - Fantastic Salomon Support
I had to return a pair of PULSAR TRAIL shoes as the stripes came loose after 2 weeks, Salomon quickly resolved the issue by giving me the full price equivalent to repurchase something on their website. I chose these, and they are comfortable and supportive. They are also light weight. Although I prefer the looks of the PULSAR TRAIL, these will do the trick and do it in style. Thank you Salomon for the awesome customer service.

Great Shoe
Great shoe. Was disappointed when the Wildcross was cancelled but this is a great replacement. Similar to the Speedcross but bigger toe box, which I need, and more cushioning. Very please with it on the trails!

All Terrain Master Shoe
A great choice for mix terrain, offers both grip in the mid and a level of cushioning on harder surfaces. Not a specialist shoe for either so you have to compromise a bit but my go to shoe when I'm not sure whether I need deep lugs fr the mud of 6mm of cushioning for the rocks. I went a 1/2 size up which works fine. Gusset and lacing system makes getting shoe on a bit harder but feels snug and precise once you are there.

Absolutely amazing!
Ran a very wet and technical 50k in Duluth MN in these bad boys and they were amazing. Compared to a lot of the other runners out there, I was slipping the least on rocks and roots/wood. These shoes were also very comfortable over the whole race

OK
I bought this a month ago but returned it. It runs very narrow (like Inov8), which prevents natural toe spread. It also feels and smells very plasticky, not in the same league as competitors. It has the makings of a good shoe, the R&D team just need to work on the sizing and up the quality of the upper materials.

Perfect trail running shoe
I’ve been waiting for Salomon to make a low drop version of the Speedcross and these shoes do not disappoint. The Thundercross have a similar amount of grip and similar upper with a slightly wider toebox and the same speed lace system. I’ve run a couple of 50K trail races in these shoes and there is plenty of cushioning and grip for even the most technical sections of trails.
I would definitely recommend the Salomon Thundercross and I will be purchasing another pair when this pair finally wears out.

Finally, a Salomon shoe that works with my feet
I've admired Salomon shoes for their appearance for a long time, but it's been difficult to find a trail shoe in the Salomon line up that has room in the forefoot. I finally found this in the Thundercross. It has what I'd call Mid-Max stack, low drop, and a toe box that allows me to move my toes. First run I did in the shoes was 12 miles and felt perfectly comfortable during and after the run. My US12 weighs in at 314g which is also a plus. Many trail shoes in my size and similar stack height are 350g and above. Lastly, this shoe, and depending on your location, could be worn all winter. My first run was end of summer, and my feet did not overheat, but I don't know how well it would do in really hot weather.

Great Mountain Shoe
Great Mountain running shoe I’ve covered around 50 miles on varied terrain and it’s perfect for everything especially Rocky Mountains like Tryfan Much better for me than the Speedcross Love the 4mm drop and the advertised lateral traction really worked on some large slabs Extra toe box over the speecross works perfect Feet have never felt fatigued and the cushioning is bang on but you still have ground feel

Not the Salomon fit I am accustomed to
Just finished running/hiking the Grand Canyon in the ThunderCross shoes. As expected the lacing system, cushioning, and outsole tread design were exceptional. Unfortunately, it seems the shoe last has changed for the worse. A much wider toe box and larger volume fit resulted in blisters forming in the first 10k. And bloody toe nails by 20k. I should have worn my old Salomon shoes instead. I've been exclusive to Salomon for 15+ years with never a single fit issue nor a need to buy another show since they were the best at everything. I'm off now to find another technical trail shoe brand that provides the fit and feel that made Salomon famous and can put up with the ups and downs of a long trail adventure. Why mess with success Salomon?!?!?
