Rated 4 de 5 de par Perfect for dry, fast races. Overall: the shoes are great for PRs. Definitely haven’t experienced the blister issues and the shoe locks down well. The cushioning is perfectly adequate for sub-marathon races. My definite go-to on anything less than 20 miles. Negatives: the lug depth (4mm) means sliding on mud or loose gravel. The upper can also get a bit warm when you’re sweating heavily.

Rated 1 de 5 de par First S/Lab Sense that disappoints I've ran (10 to 26 Miles races and runs) version 4-7 from the S/Lab Sense series, and they are top of the market, excellent shoes. The 8 disappoints unfortunately. For people with a high foot instep, I wouldn't recommend it. The new shoe sock-fit doesn't allow free movement and is uncomfortable. The plastic from the lays system is directly onto your feet and it is hard to get in. I switched back to the 7 and gave the shoes away to a friend with a common instep (he does enjoy the pair).

Rated 5 de 5 de par Makes me feel light and fast Great shoe for dry trails. It is my go to training shoe in the summer, and for short trail races.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Salomon has very subtly ruined S/Lab Sense I've been wearing S/Labs since they came out and they were, until now, perfect. No other trail running shoe compared. Unfortunately, that now includes the Sense 8, which causes blisters on my heel. I'm replacing laces on my old Sense 6s and will probably resort to duct-taping them together when the time comes, or until I find a better brand. I actually threw my Sense 8s away. This is a sad example of a company making changes to a very good product without proper field testing.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Not the great Sense fit! I am a big Sense fan - own multiple pairs from sense 3 to 8. This shoe is the first one that I will not recommend. My single biggest complaint would the construction of the heal of the shoe. The inside consists of very rough and touch materials where stitched together. The top is some rubbery material that rubs against my achilles causing me blisters. I tried multiple socks but result remains same. Suggest Salomon should rethink this sock like construct or better, go back to Sense 7 - the best shoe in my collection

Rated 5 de 5 de par Best Trail Runner on the Market Have got about 50 miles in my S/Lab Sense 8 shoes and I'm absolutely loving them. I was looking for a shoe that had a little bit more cushion then my minimalist shoes but still maintained zero or almost zero drop and this shoe has fit the bill perfectly. The transition from running short distances in a minimalist shoe to running longer distances (<15 miles) in this shoe was super easy. The sock like fit has taken a little getting used to as there are some new friction points on my heel and at the top of the ankle that have resulted in small blisters, but after healing they have not come back. I can say that for a running shoe, I love this construction and now won't be able to go back to a shoe with a tongue, gusseted or not. I also wasn't sure how I would like the quick laces on a runner but have also grown to love them. These shoes are super light and the amount of cushion that they have is perfect, I feel like I'm gliding. My new favorite pair of running shoes. Don't ever change them!!

Rated 3 de 5 de par Lightweight and fast - but the ground feel? I have had the last 4 versions of the SLAB Sense. Love the lightweight low drop design. However I am not sure about the addition of the ground filter sock. It fits to high and alters the overall feel of shoe. The sock also impinges my archilles on both sides leaving me with sore tendons. Prefer the 7

Rated 4 de 5 de par More cushion needed The S-Lab Sense 8 is an overall great shoe for short distance high pace racing. The upper provides secure lock down and the mid sole provides superior responsiveness. However, the overall cushion from the midsole material is so minimal that caused quite a bit lower leg soreness. Adding cushion is extremely recommended and increased stack height for cushioning does not necessarily sacrifice speed and stability on technical trails. The outsole lugs can also be more aggressive to provided more bite on dry sandy trail surface.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Light with great feel, but... Big fan of the S-Lab Sense Series for many years. Always very light, agile, and great racing shoes. These are no exception, but the knit/sock uppers of this year's model doesn't work for me. With no tongue protection, the sewn seams for the eyelets rub the top of my feet raw, no matter the socks or how loose the laces. Have never had this happen with any other footwear, ever. I'd never given any thought as to how important the tongue of any shoe is for me, until now. Gonna wear my 7 series til they rot off my feet.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Lightweight and stable Finally a lightweight shoe. Very comfortable, and a very low profile. The low to the ground feeling is great on technical trails. It is a socklike upper, but unfortunately has a rough material around the top that chafes, and the rubber tab to get them on is higher than a lot of socks and rubs horribly. I immediately got blisters on both heals after wearing them for 20 minutes on a dry day. The other problem is the tread is relatively close together and not great in mud or off cambers. They are great on simple trails, but add any mud and they do not grip anywhere as well as a speedcross. All in all, it's nice to have a lightweight responsive shoe, and this is close to being a great show, but some tweaks still need to be made to get them there.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Love the redesign! I have used these for about 70 miles so far, and so far they are great! I love the new sock like fit. I bought a size 7.5 which is the size I wear in all salomon footwear and it fits just as expected.
