Rated 3 de 5 por de Narrow, Pointy, Uncomfortable Unfortunately, these shoes did not bode well with my feet. They are very narrow. That also makes them very pointy. My feet are not shaped that way. With a roomier and less pointy toebox, I think these could be fantastic shoes. The grip was great. They are lightweight. The lacing system works well. They were also very stable on the trails. When I had to decide between these shoes or my toenails I ultimately chose my toenails and sent these back.

Rated 5 de 5 por de After-a break-in these trail shoes are great! I've had my Ultra/Pros for about 70 miles now. About me: I run almost exclusively on trails and dirt roads and despise running on pavement. My runs are normally 4 to 9 miles 3-5 times a week on trails that have frequent creek crossings. In the PNW I frequently encounter mud wand/or snow in the winter. I don't like gore-tex shoes and instead favor wearing a thin pair of smartwool or other performance sock for a lighter weight feel. I am middle aged and have had knee problems in the past, so cushion and support is important in a shoe. I don't have ultra-wide feet but sometimes fit better in a wide sized shoe. I am somewhat dedicated to my other go-to brand name shoes but was offered these shoes to try at a discount so... Out of the box: As my first pair of solomon shoes I did not initially like the lacing system. It seemed like they ran too freely through the loop which would cause an uneven fit or pinch up at the top around my ankles. Trying the shoes on, they seemed narrow with some extra space in the toe. This concerned me as I normally would not buy shoes without trying them on first [and liking them] but these were sent mail order as part of the program. They also had less cushion than what I am used to. They were comfortable though overall. After 50 miles: I've had a chance to break them in they are fantastic. I got used to the laces after about 15-20 miles and like them as much as traditional laces if better. They are very light weight and fun to run in with what feels like a slight improvement to my pace/times over heavier cushioned shoes. The narrow feel does not bother me and the way they fit my feet are great. I am not affected by the lesser cushion that these shoes have. I've stepped in a few creeks and have run in the snow with these. As with all my other non-gore-tex shoes my feet still get wet. However, with the right socks they continue to perform through the run and I don't get cold feet or anything like that. They hold up well on the trails and are durable. Bottom Line: These shoes are great trail shoes. For me they needed an initial break in but that went fast (less than 20 miles) and once through that I love running in these shoes. I will buy them again and recommend them.

Rated 5 de 5 por de Great long range shoe. I usually run in Sense Rides on the trails but wanted a slightly more cushioned shoe for a 50km next year. So far these haven’t disappointed. Still responsive but does have a little more cushioning. I’ve only done about 150km so far with a max of 30km in one go.

Rated 4 de 5 por de Perfect except durability I thought I had found the best trail shoe ever for my foot. Comfortable for long distance. After 300 miles the upper started to break down. A lot of miles above tree line on rough terrain. Great shoes but thought they would last longer if.

Rated 5 de 5 por de Perfect fit I've found Salomon to be the most consistent and comfy fit for my feet. I bought these for trail running but haven't had as much time for that as I'd hoped, so I can't call myself a dedicated runner. But they're also perfect for wearing around town, to work, etc. Very light and breathable, seems to be the same high quality construction I've come to expect from Salomon over the years.

Rated 3 de 5 por de Ultra After all the reviews, I thought there would have been more padding on the bottom. That why only gave it 3 stars

Rated 5 de 5 por de “One shoe quiver” The Ultra/PRO is the perfect every day any terrain any distance shoe. I know I can rely on this shoe to perform No matter the trail, and sometimes road, conditions.

Rated 5 de 5 por de Comfort, Comfort , Comfort I've only worn it a few times but was comfortable right away so breaking in didn't change my workouts.

Rated 5 de 5 por de Love it Best all around trail shoe I've owned! Albeit Ive only been trail running for 4-5 years now but this is the 6th shoe type of shoe Ive owned doing so and its my favorite

Rated 5 de 5 por de Do it all shoe for any trail! Ideal shoe for front range to alpine trails through out the seasons. These have lasted me a year of 350 rugged miles on alpine trails. The width is a bit more generous than my SpeedCross 5s which makes them more comfortable for the longer mile days on moderate trails. Also ideal for varying sock types. They can hold up to scrambling and traversing, but as soon as your tread wears down, they can't hold a toe with confidence. Very breathable and dry quickly when submerged.

Rated 3 de 5 por de Most Comfortable Trail Running Shoe I’ve Owned Would buy again if they would last longer then 150 miles.

Rated 4 de 5 por de Lot of comfort! Great shoe for trails that are not to technical and does not perform that well under wet condition

Rated 5 de 5 por de Comfort and performance Hands down the best trail running shoe I have had. I run all distances about 30miles being the longest distance run. This shoe is great for short and mid distance but also for longer knee and foot banging runs over 15+miles. These Ultra Pro’s offer a firm and grippy sole for tech stuff but a nice mid length tred for hard packed single track. If you have a wider foot I think these types of runners would enjoy it a bit more with the bigger toe box. I’d buy boxes of these to have once my current shoes keep breaking down. Nice work Salomon for this one!!! 5Stars

Rated 5 de 5 por de Great shoe for ultra training [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Me and this pair of shoes have over 200 miles together. It's all been on single track trail and during this spring/summer in central NC. I don't know that they're the best at anything but they're super solid at a lot of things. Yes, I had a stick get stuck under one of those side panels on my first run. You know what I did? I pulled it out and kept running. Hasn't happened since. Yes, the laces can apply too much pressure on the top of the foot if you cinch them down real snug. I'm not bombing down mountainsides, so I ease up a little on the lacing and I'm just fine and dandy. The grip is usually plenty. It slips out every now and then, but overall it's been fine for my use. It gets squishy after 15-20 miles when it's 80°+ and humid, but don't we all?

Rated 5 de 5 por de Stable and wide I've had a tough time finding wide enough trail running shoes and have read that Salomon is notorious for being narrow. Read a couple reviews on this model being wider than most of their offerings and it didn't disappoint. Much more stable than the nike wildhorse which I have as a secondary pair.

Rated 4 de 5 por de Comfortable shoe, great grip Pretty happy with this shoe so far through about 35 miles. The grip is pretty excellent, and the sole is sturdy enough to prevent too much discomfort over rocks and other hard terrain. Only slight downside is the lacing system loosens a bit on it's own after running up/downhills for several miles that requires me to adjust and retighten the laces. Haven't had this problem with other Salomon's that I've owned.

Rated 2 de 5 por de Unwearable Tried them on once after I received them. Immediately too narrow for my foot unfortunately. I recommend double checking width then assume they are a touch more narrow than suggested.

Rated 1 de 5 por de Sizing Issues I had the same issue that Ericface described. I also normally wear 9.5s in Salomons and my pair fit very very large. Is this a sizing problem or did perhaps some shoes get mislabeled as 9.5s?

Rated 5 de 5 por de Great shoe Bought them as a trainer, but would race them. Nimble with just the right amount of cushion. Surprisingly impressed!

Rated 5 de 5 por de Salomon does it again! I bought these shoes about 3 weeks ago and have about 50 miles on them. Zero break in period. Very comfortable right out of the box. The lace garage is awesome. The energy save soul really protects my feet from rocks! Shoe does run about a size big. Over all, great training shoes!

Rated 2 de 5 por de doesn't fit like other Salomon's I have never worn anything but a 9.5 in Salomon and these shoes were as long as an 11. I was so confused. The width was great, the stiffness was as expected, but I could have never imagined a 9.5 being so long. I downsized to a 9 and the last fit just as long. I really wanted to like these shoes. Oh well, I still have nothing but love for Salomon.

Rated 5 de 5 por de Rocket feet These things are like stepping your feet into a couple rocket ships. Ive been setting records on strava segments all week with these stallions. 12/10 would recommend to a friend.

Rated 4 de 5 por de Compare and contrast I bought these shoes and a pair of Inoveight terra ultras around the same. Wanted to check out them out. All in all pretty much same performance. That said I usually wear Inoveight same am more used to them. The Ultrapros nice and comfortable on longer trail runs. The lacing system is great On rougher trails the uppers were a little stiff for my liking so felt like you were working against the ground. Personal preference though shoes are pretty goid. Am used to more grip but these aren’t designed for muddy trails etc overall when comparing both types have been using them equally. Will be interesting to see how they go in an Ultra trail race.
