When Salomon’s footwear team created the new ME:sh range of running shoes, their ambition and focus was to provide a never-before-seen comfort to trail runners and road runners; something comparable to a “second-skin feel”.
Mission accomplished! In order to achieve this goal, the first generation of the Twinskin—the sock-like component that makes the ME:sh upper—was slightly too fragile to endure the constraints of technical and abrasive terrains. For this reason, Salomon recommended using ME:sh shoes on easy rolling trails, such as gravel roads or fire roads. Of course, this limitation was not satisfying for Salomon, a brand that has won trail running races around the world on all types of terrain, even the most technical.
To continue to push forward the boundaries of innovation, the ME:sh footwear team set a new goal: to design and develop a shoe capable of conquering very technical trails with no compromise on performance and comfort.
And we’ve found the secret sauce. With a new more durable Twinskin, the ME:sh development team has raised the bar so high that the level of durability against abrasion and tear is second to none in the running footwear industry.
