Rated 1 out of 5 by from You totally changed the perfect riding boot. I've rode in the synapse for years. I would replace an old one with the same newer pair. Never had a single issue. This one though, wow. Total change. The liner is too soft so you feel like you're moving in the boot before the shell engages even when fully tightened. The toe box is too roomy. Please bring back the previous Synapse! - Love, Everyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Liked them at first This was my second pair of Synapse. I liked the fit of my first pair, but the plastic the hold the boa wire broke after a while. Got my second pair, haven’t worn them nearly as much but noticed the inside shell of the boot wore down so much that the plastic is exposed. My ankle bone is right on the plastic, I can’t walk after a day of riding. I love the fit of Salomons, wish these problems didn’t arise.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bulky Boot that Didn't Break In I bought this boot back in 2018 and got to ride in them for 2 and a half seasons (around 30 total days). I pulled them out of storage this year and realized that one of the plastic inlets for the boa wire at the ankle was broken in half and no longer held the wire. The boots still appear in perfect shape but the casing for the boas broke and the boots are out of warranty. Looking back on the boot I am pretty disappointed. I used Christmas money to buy a nice/expensive boot I wouldn't normally be able to buy hoping for the best, but the boots never reached my expectations. At first I was very happy with the flex and the responsiveness I was able to get with my board but there were a couple of pain points around the ankles I was hoping would go away as I continued to break in the boots. Unfortunately that never happened and after a day of riding I would consistently have pain points right on the inside of my ankle bones that would stay sensitive for days after their use. I have narrow feet and these boots are bulky and I would really have to cinch the boas down, which is what ultimately led to the plastic casing cracking and breaking after moderate use. I bought these boots when they were new and had no reviews but I am seeing now that a lot of people experienced similar issues to me. I would not recommend this boot and would suggest trying a cheaper Salomon pair that has better reviews.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable but BOA system needs work I bought these boots last season, and I have a few months of riding on them both in the backcountry and at the resort. The boots themselves are very comfortable and supportive. They have a nice flex pattern for touring, however unfortunately the BOA system does not stay tight. This makes for a frustrating game of constantly tightening throughout the day. I thought perhaps I just got a bad pair but it seems this is a common issue that needs to be addressed. Lots of potential in these boots, but they need some work!
