Biography
A superstar of her sport, Sandra Naeslund became Sweden's first World Champion in ski cross when she won the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada. That was only the beginning for Sandra, as just a year later, in 2018, she went on to win both the Freestyle Overall and the Ski Cross Overall Crystal globes. She had a spectacular season, dominated the field race after race, and became only the third athlete from the highly competitive and highly unpredictable discipline of ski cross to win the biggest World Cup trophy. The title came as a well-deserved reward for years of consistency and domination in the discipline. Sandra’s greatness was proved once again in 2021 when after missing the whole beginning of the World Cup season due to injury, she claimed World Championship gold in her first race back. Sandra started as an alpine skier, but after trying ski cross once, she immediately knew that was going to be her sport of choice.
