Biography
Born in the middle of the Austrian Alps, close to Salzburg, speed specialist Hannes Reichelt always said that it took hard work and a bit of luck to make his childhood dreams come true. Before announcing his retirement from the World Cup in 2021 at the age of 40, 20 years after his debut on the world’s stage, Hannes skied his way to 13 World Cup victories and a total of 44 podiums. He also is the proud owner of the 2008 super G season title and of two World Championships medals – a gold in the 2015 Super G in Beaver Creek, USA, and a silver in the same discipline at the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Following his retirement, Hannes has plenty to keep him busy off the slopes. Between finally spending more time with his family and a growing passion for kitesurfing, he continues to never stand still.
